Congrats to Amar - for getting her research project accepted for presentation at the 2nd Annual SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference! Amar will present on her work to produce a species distribution model (SDM) of purple martins (Progne subis) in New York State, to better understand the environmental factors predicting their occurence. Ultimately this SDM will be used in research on parasite distributions on purple martins, and other cavity nesting birds. The model will also examine how changes in climate and landcover over the past 40 years may have contributed to the decline in purple martins over the same time period. Amar is an undergraduate research assistant in the Dittmar Lab.
